Elizabeth (Ellis) Rinehart Feb. 15, 1903; Oregonian, p 6 (photo) "Left Iowa For Oregon in 1850" Condon, Or., Feb. 14 Mrs. Elizabeth Rinehart, one of Oregon's pioneer women, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Crum, at Olex, this county, January 30, 1903, aged 96 years. Deceased was a native of Tennessee, being born in that state in 1807. With her husband and children she crossed the plains from Iowa to Oregon in 1850, settling in Lane County. She was the mother of 13 children, eight of whom are living. The living children are: James Rinehart, of Portland; Frank Rinehart, of Grant County; Henry Rinehart, of Union; Jasper Rinehart, of Medford; George W. Rinehart, of Condon; Mrs. Sarah Crum, of Olex, and Louis and William Rinehart, both residents of the State of Washington. Her husband, Louis Rinehart, died at Union in 1875. Her remains were taken to Union for interment.
