Morrow Co, OR Lookups

Before requesting a lookup, you can do research of Morrow County Records at your LDS Family History Center.  They have most of the Heppner Gazette Times and other Morrow County newspapers on microfilm.   Also, the LDS Church has microfilmed records from the Morrow County Courthouse.   For a list of some of these records click here, or check with your local LDS FHC.

How to get Lookups

  • What?  A lookup will include a search of the family file, the Heppner Gazette-Times index (1883-1915), the 1880 federal census, an obituary (with specific date), and appropriate local history books-including BunchgrassersIone and Us, Homesteads and Heritages, Shepherds & Shamrocks, History of Umatilla & Morrow Counties, History of Morrow County.
  • Who? Staff of the Morrow County Museum will do lookups in the archives of the Museum's Genealogical Resource Center.
  • When? As quickly as possible. Staff and time are very limited so lookups may take time.
  • How?  Lookup guidelines:
    • Be as specific as possible.
    • ONE lookup request.
    • Include: * your name,* email address, and * snail mail address
    • Let us know if you would like your query posted on the Morrow County USGenWeb site.
  • How Much? The Morrow County Museum provides this service without charge at this point.  The development of the Museum's Genealogical Resource Center depends on donations from researchers.  Donations cover the cost of copies and mailing and anything else is greatly appreciated.  And, as always, copies of your family information would be a welcome addition to the Resource Center archives.
