My grandmother was born Marjorie Elaine Dennis on 6 Dec 1920.  When she was a year old her mother divorced her father and remarried.  The new husband adopted my grandmother so her name changed to Marjorie Elaine Paulson.  I've included a picture of her taken in 1936.

Some notes about a few of the pages:

The page with a "1" next to it:  J.A. Elsesor was John Albert Elsesor and he married my great-great grandmother, Hannah Carrie Durance, in 1935.  (When he wrote in my grandmother's book in 1933 Hannah Carrie was still married to her 2nd husband at the time.)

The page with a "2":  That was written by Hannah Carrie Durance, my grandmother's grandmother.  She was married 3 times.

One of the pages had been folded over so the one marked "3A" is what you see before opening it and seeing the inside ("3B").

The page with a "4": This was written by Zuba Z White who was my great-grandmother.  She was married 4 times.
