John Cord July 14, 1928; Oregonian, p 10 Baker, Or., July 13 John Cord, Baker county pioneer, died this morning at the Protestant hospital after a short illness. Mr. Cord was born November 24, 1836, in Springfield, Ill. In 1864 he crossed the plains and located in Silver City, Idaho. Later he moved to Auburn, Or., where for many years he was active in the mining business. In 1870 he came to Baker, where he engaged in carpentering. He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Jesse Samuels of Baker.
