Eliza Geiser Nov. 16, 1909; Oregonian, p 6 "Baker Pioneer Passes" Baker City, Or., Nov. 15 The death of Mrs. Eliza Geiser, in this city last night, marks the passing of one of Eastern Oregon's best known women. Mrs. Geiser was born in Germany, May 11, 1837, and came to America in 1857, locating in Denver, Colo. She was married to John Geiser in 1862 and with an ox team they traversed Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and New Mexico. Later they removed to California, remaining a few years and then traveled by boat to Portland, thence to Baker City, locating here in 1884. Her husband followed mining in Eastern Oregon, locating and owning a number of properties, among which was the Bonanza, several miles from Baker City, which sold a few years ago to Standard Oil interests for $500,000. Mr. Geiser died several years ago. Five children survive: Albert Geiser, who resides in California; Edward D. and Frank E. Geiser, of Portland; Mrs. William Pollman and Miss Louise Geiser, of Baker City.
