William McCurdy May 12, 1911; Oregonian, p 6 "Blacksmith Kills Self" Baker, Or., May 11 William McCurdy, a blacksmith and formerly interested in mines at Pine, near this city, committed suicide today by shooting himself through the head with a revolver. It is said that he had threatened to take his own life on account of failing eyesight, but he had been drinking for a couple of days and may have committed the act through remorse, as his habit had caused him much worry. He was well and favorably known in this vicinity for many years. It is believed that he has a brother at Portland. No other relatives are known here.
