S. B. Reeves March 25, 1897; Oregonian, p 3 S. B. Reeves died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. Jones, in McEwen, last Saturday. The deceased was born in Indiana, March 21, 1819. In 1849 Mr. Reeves crossed the continent to the Pacific coast, and was one of the first on the scene of gold discovery in California. He returned East, and went to California the second time in 1852. He was one of the Indian fighters during succeeding years. In 1864 he came with his family to Eastern Oregon and located in Malheur county, where he lived continuously until of late years. A large family of grown children survives the old pioneer, whose memory will be revered.
