Daniel H. Shaw Jan. 15, 1916; Oregonian, p 15 "Oregon Pioneer Passes" Baker, Or., Jan. 14 Daniel H. Shaw, one of the earliest pioneers of Eastern Oregon, died today at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, after an illness with heart trouble since last April. Mr. Shaw was born in Uniontown, Mo., 80 years ago and in 1867 came to Oregon with his parents, locating six miles south of the present site of Baker. With his father he engaged in farming and stockraising and in 1874 married Miss Pauline McKinney. He is survived by four children, Alfred Shaw, of Tekoa, Wash.; Samuel Shaw, of Baker; Mrs. Robert Cavin, of Caldwell, Idaho, and Mrs. D. A. Steadman, of McEwen.
