Sarah Catharine (Keeney) Bennett April 30, 1916; Oregonian, p 5 (photo) "Oregon Pioneer of 1851 Dies at Philomath" Philomath, Or., April 29 Mrs. Sarah Catharine Bennett, a pioneer of 1851, died here yesterday at the age of 70 years. Born in Missouri, the family came West by ox team and settled in Linn County, where, in 1866, Sarah Keeney was married to Sylvester K. Clark, and three children were born, one of whom survives. Mr. Clark was killed at Elma, Wash., in 1871. In 1879 Mrs. Clark became the wife of Rev. A. Bennett and moved to Philomath, where she had since resided. Mrs. Bennett is survived by three children, James W. Clark, of Lebanon, Or.; John A. Bennett, of Philomath, and Marion Bennett, of Berkeley, Cal.
