   Mrs. Lettie D. Boles, 85, died at her home here today.  She had been a resident of Philomath for more than 50 years, coming here when Philomath college was one of the leading educational institutions of the state.  Mrs. Boles was born near Muncie, Ind., November 22, 1847, and with her husband came to the Willamette valley in 1878, where she had resided since.
   She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Ella B. Jones, Portland; Mrs. Bessie Underhill, Albany; Mrs. Dora Frink, Corvallis; Mrs. Kittie Rowe and Mrs. Grace Thompson, Salem; three sons, B. H. and C. A. Boles of Portland and Arthur Boles of Philomath.
