   Lucinda Carter died of pneumonia at her home at Wells last Sunday evening.  The deceased was the widow of Joseph Carter, who was a cousin of Senator Tolbert Carter, and who died nearly 30 years ago.  Mrs. Carter was about 76 years of age, and has resided a great many years at Wells.  The funeral occurred Monday.  Five children survive, James, Willis and Jonathan Carter, and Mrs. James Davidson of the vicinity of Wells, and Mrs. Henry Stroud of Eastern Oregon.
