   Joseph Dixon, a pioneer of Oregon, died at his home near this city December 31.  Born in Missouri in 1828, he crossed the plains by ox team in 1853 and located six miles west of Portland.  He is survived by one daughter, Martha Dixon Witham, and two sons, George and Wyke, all of this county.
