William E. Githens July 17, 1925; Oregonian, p 20 Corvallis, Or., July 16 William E. Githens, 76, Oregon pioneer, died at his home in Peoria this morning. He came to Oregon with his parents in 1852 and settled in Clackamas county. When he was 13 years of age, he came to Peoria, where he has resided ever since. In 1870 he was married to nancy Jane Garrett, who died in 1889. He leaves four children, James G. Githens of Corvallis, George E. Githens and Mrs. Anna Bayne of Peoria and Mrs. Nellie Winsome of Portland. Funeral services will be held at Pine Grove near Peoria Friday afternoon, in charge of the Masonic lodge of Shedd. July 20, 1925; Oregonian, p 18 Halsey, Or., July 19 The funeral of William Githens, 76, of Peoria, Or., who died Tuesday at Albany was held Friday, at the Pine Grove cemetery. The Shedd lodge of Masons and Knights Templer of Albany were in charge of the graveside services. Mr. Githens came to Oregon with his parents in 1852 and settled in Clackamas county, but moved to Peoria when he was 15 years of age and had made that place his home since that time. In 1870 he married Miss Nancy Jane Garrett, who died in 1889. Four children survive. They are: George E. Githens of Peoria, James G. Githens of Corvallis, Mrs. Anna Bayne of Peoria and Mrs. Nellie Winsome of Portland.
