James A. Groshong Sept. 25, 1928; Oregonian, p 18 James A. Groshong, for many years a resident of Corvallis, died there Sunday night. Funeral services will be held this afternoon. Mr. Groshong was the oldest member of the Bainbridge clan in Oregon. He came to Oregon from Kansas more than 50 years ago and settled first in King valley, later moving to Corvallis. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist church and led the singing in the Lebanon congregation. Those who survive are his children, Fred M. Groshong, Portland; Mrs. E. B. Horning, Corvallis; Mrs. S. L. Burnaugh, Portland; S. L. Groshong, Centralia; Merril E. Groshong, Cloverdale; Frank S. Groshong, Corvallis; his sister, Mrs. Charis Martin, Topeka, Kan.; his brother, M. J. Groshong, Los Angeles, and his grandson, Emil E. Horning, Portland.
