Mrs. J. B. Irvine March 8, 1912; Oregonian, p 7 "Pioneer Woman is Dead" Corvallis, Or., March 7 Following an attack of the grip last Sunday, Mrs. J. B. Irvine, wife of Councilman Irvine, of this city, passed away today. Her death was not expected and none of the children except those living in Corvallis were at the bedside. Mrs. Irvine was 74 years of age and a native of Tennessee. She was an early pioneer of Oregon, having crossed the plains by ox team in 1853. The following year she was married to J. B. Irvine and they moved to a ranch near Scio, where they lived for about 13 years. Two or three years after the Civil War the family moved to Corvallis, where Mr. and Mrs. Irvine have since resided. Mrs. Irvine is survived by her husband, J. B. Irvine, and six children. The children are B. F. Irvine, of the Oregon Journal; Mrs. D. Brusha, of Pendleton; Mrs. J. A. French, of Enterprise; J. D. Irvine, of Brownsville; Bessie and George Irvine, of this city. Comments
