Lucinda A. Lilly July 19, 1893; Oregonian, p 3 "She Crossed the Plains" Corvallis, Or., July 18 Mrs. Lucinda A. Lilly, wife of S. N. Lilly, died at 4 o'clock this afternoon, at her home near this city, of cancer of the womb, after a long and painful illness. Mrs. Lilly was born July 28, 1844, in Missouri. At the age of 8 years, in company with her parents, she crossed the plains with an ox team, arriving in the Willamette valley in the fall of 1852, her father, Simon Hardy, having succumbed to a severe illness on route. In 1862 she was married to S. N. Lilly, and since that time resided on their ranch near this city. Her husband, three sons and four daughters survive her. She was an earnest worker in the order of the Eastern Star, which organization she has been a member of for a number of years. Mrs. Lilly was a devoted mother, an esteemed member of society, and beloved by all who knew her. The funeral will occur tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock from the family residence.
