"Pioneer Sawmill Builder is Laid to Rest at Corvallis"

   Neil Newhouse, who died Tuesday, was buried Thursday at Crystal Lake Cemetery with Masonic honors.  He had been a member of Corvallis Lodge No. 14, of Masons, and Ferguson Chapter No. 5, Royal Arch Masonry.
   Mr. Newhouse was a native of Elgin, Ill.  He was born in October, 1851, and as a lad he came to Oregon with his parents in 1864.  The family settled in Linn county, near Albany.  In 1876 he married Lavinia Bridges.  Mr. Newhouse was a sawmill builder.
