Obituary --- Bert Pilkington

   Funeral services will be held in Corvallis today for Bert Pilkington, 58, member of the chemistry department staff at Oregon State college, who died suddenly Saturday at his country home north of Corvallis.
   Born in Oakland, Or., June 21, 1879, Mr. Pilkington attended Oregon agricultural college, graduating from there in 1905.  During his collegiate days he was a star fullback on the O.A.C. football team, playing later for the Multnomah club teams of 1907 and 1908.
   He joined the staff of the state experiment station in Corvallis in 1909, and was later instructor of chemistry at the college.  He left the faculty to take up farming, returning in 1935 to the college staff.
   Surviving are the widow, Anne Bleeg Pilkington; a daughter, Agnes of Corvallis, and a son, Bert of Memphis, Tenn.
