George Schulmerich Sept. 3, 1932; Oregonian, p 16 "Benton Rancher Dead" Corvallis, Or., Sept. 2 George Schulmerich, 70, prominent farmer of Benton county for many years, brother of State senator Ed Schulmerich of Hillsboro and uncle of Wes Schulmerich, outfielder for the Boston National league baseball team, dropped death last night at his home eight miles north of Corvallis. He originally lived at Hillsboro, which is the location of the Schulmerich family home. After leaving Washington county he moved to Benton county. He was one of the leading democratic leaders of this county, a member of Hillsboro Knights of Pythias lodge and past royal vizier of Dokkies at Portland. Mr. Schulmerich was born February 22, 1865, at Placerville Cal. He is survived by the widow, one brother, Senator Schulmerich, Hillsboro; four sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Burkhalter, Mrs. Margaret Biersdorf and Mrs. Elmer Johnson, all of Hillsboro, and Mrs. Thomas Bilyeu, Portland.
