Walter K. Taylor May 13, 1929; Oregonian, p 20 "Walter K. Taylor Dies" Corvallis, Or., May 12 Walter K. Taylor, 57, of this city, died last night. He was for many years president of the Oregon State Dairymen's association, was prominent in Corvallis civic affairs where he had served as both mayor and councilman and member of the city school board. Mr. Taylor came to Oregon in 1889, having traveled from Kansas by ox team. He was born in Milrow, Penn., in 1871. In 1895 he was united in marriage with Christine Lenger, a native of Oregon. Besides his widow, two brothers, Vance and Roy, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Lipton, he leaves eight children, Hugh, residing at Weiser, Idaho; Rhoda of Portland, Mrs. Ruth Porter of Silverton, Herbert, John, Esther, Helen and Walter Jr., all of Corvallis. From the time of his arrival in Oregon till 1920 he was engaged in the dairy business. In 1920 he became a member of the real estate firm of Hughson & Taylor. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, the Eastern Star, Woodmen of the World, the Artisan and the Grange. Funeral services will be held in the Presbyterian church, of which he was for many years an official, on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
