   William J. Deitz, resident of Rainier for 38 years, died here April 6.  He was born in New Bedford, O., July 13, 1854.  He married Miss Alice Leona Dobelbower in Rainier in 1884.  He engaged in the mercantile business here and retired in 1900.  He served as city councilman for 20 years continuously.  Surviving are his widow, three daughters, Myrtle Grace Driskel, Astoria; Katie B. Suhr, San Diego, Cal.; Gertrude V. Anderson, Los Angeles; one sister and two brothers Mrs. Carrie Gilbert, Grafton, N. D., and Frank and Bert Deitz of Gilmanton, Wis.
