David W. Freeman Aug. 23, 1933; Oregonian, p 12 "David W. Freeman Dies" Clatskanie, Or., Aug. 22 David W. Freeman, 87, a pioneer of the Nehalem valley, was buried today after service in the Presbyterian church. He came from one of the oldest families in the America, his progenitors having come from England to America in 1607. He crossed the plains by ox team in 1874 and homesteaded in the Nehalem valley. In 1919 he moved to Portland and was one of the organizers of the East Portland water district and was president of the company. In 1923 he came to Clatskanie where he lived until his death. He was appointed justice of the peace and held the office until his death on Saturday. Surviving him are his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Harvey of Clatskanie, and one son, Warren of Jewel.
