Malcolm McKay June 10, 1908; Oregonian, p 9 (photo) "Malcolm McKay is Dead" Malcolm McKay, the oldest pioneer in Columbia County, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sarah Garrison, at Scappoose, Or., Monday, aged 87 years. Mr. McKay was born at Lewis Island, Scotland, December 15, 1821, and came to Oregon with the Hudson Bay Company in 1842, and was identified with that company for many years. He fought in several of the early Indian wars in this state. In 1853 Mr. McKay married Miss Lucinda Lamberson, and settled on a donation claim at Scappoose, which has since been his home. Mr. McKay is survived by nine children. They are: Norman, James, Edwin, Robert and William McKay; Mrs. Mary Balch and Mrs. Sarah Garrison, all of Scappoose, and Mrs. Emma O'Connor, of Portland.
