W. Whitcomb June 26, 1875; Oregonian, p 3 "Sudden Death" W. Whitcomb, who for the past month or two has been teaching school in the lower part of Columbia county, died very suddenly on last Wednesday night. He had eaten of a hearty supper, and the only complaint he was heard to make was just as he sat down he said that his "heart was wabbling about," and an hour later he was dead. He was buried at Westport Thursday. He was about fifty years old, and was lately from Maine.
