George Tracy Beard Aug. 2, 1931; Oregonian, p 24 Redmond, Or., Aug. 1 George Tracy Beard, 48 son of Green Beard, who lives two miles west of Redmond and was one of central Oregon's first settlers, died Sunday after a few hours' illness, at the Morran & Keenan sheep camp, eight miles from any traveled road and located in the Warm Springs national forest. After death it required eight men to carry the body three miles to pack horses. The funeral was held yesterday with burial at Mill Creek cemetery in Crook county. Beard is survived by one 13-year-old daughter who lives at Albany, his father, a brother, Henry Beard of Chiloquin; three sisters, Mrs. George Parton of Cloverdale, Mrs. Nora McElfresh and Mrs. Amma McCarmick of Klamath Falls.
