S. M. Bringham March 22, 1902; Oregonian, p 11 "An Oregon Pioneer of 1850" S. M. Bringham, who died at the home of his son, Charles, at Dale, Grant County, Or., February 26, was an Oregon pioneer of 1850. Mr. Bringham was born in Indiana, January 8, 1831. He crossed the plains to Oregon when 19 years of age, settling in Linn County. In 1854 he was married in that county. He made Albany his home until 1880, when, with his family, he moved to Athena, Umatilla County. Mrs. Bringham died in 1890, and the next year Mr. Bringham went to Grant County, where he had resided continuously since. Three children survive him, Mrs. Isa Steach, of Long Creek; Mrs. Beach, of Lewiston, Idaho, and Charles Bringham, of Dale.
