Jennie (McLauglin) Muldrick Dec. 12, 1912; Oregonian, p 6 "Jennie Muldrick Dies" Canyon City, Or., Dec. 11 The funeral of Mrs. Jennie Muldrick occurred here Sunday under the auspices of the Julia Chapter, No. 28, Order of Eastern Star, of which she was a charter member. Burial was made in the Canyon City Cemetery. Her death followed a short illness from Bright's disease. She was one of Grant County's foremost and well known citizens. Mrs. Muldrick was a native of Ireland and was born at Newton Stewart, Tyrone County. Her age was 57 years and 8 months. She arrived in Grant County from California in 1874 and ten years later was married to John Muldrick, who was one of Grant County's substantial merchants and business men. Mr. Muldrick died in 1899, leaving large business affairs, which Mrs. Muldrick managed with rare ability. She had keen business sagacity, and at the same time developed a character that made and held throughout her life the warmest friendship. There was scarcely a pioneer in Grant County who did not know Mrs. Muldrick, and all held her in highest esteem. She is survived by two children, Mabel Elizabeth and John Muldrick, both of this place, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Woods, of Canyon City, and Miss Fannie McLaughlin, a sister living in Ireland, where a brother, John James McLaughlin, also lives.
