Samuel Hoyt Feb. 11, 1922; Oregonian, p 3 Grants Pass, Or., Feb. 10 Samuel Hoyt, a resident of this city for 35 years, died last Wednesday night of paralysis superinduced by old age. He was born in Chautauqua county, New York, September 20, 1839, moving to Kansas in 1876, after serving in the civil war with company G, 83d Pennsylvania infantry. He resided there but a short time, coming to Oregon by way of California. He married his second wife, Emma L. Condert, about six years ago. Besides his widow, Mr. Hoyt is survived by four children, Hallie Johnson and blanche Ashbraugh of Portland, C. W. Hoyt of Topeka, Kan., and Theresa Rhodes of southern California.
