Indian Tom Brown March 17, 1912; Oregonian, p 11 "Indian Tom, 95, is Dead" Klamath Falls, Or., March 16 Tom Brown, better known as "Indian Tom," died yesterday morning at his home near the Oregon state line. He had been in a hospital in Dorris, California, for several weeks suffering with dropsy, but was removed to his home a few days ago, after being told that he could not live. His body was brought to this city last night. Tom was formerly an Indian scout and had played a prominent part in the Modoc Indian Wars, and as near as can be ascertained by those who know him he was 95 years of age at the time of his death. The body was accompanied by several of his relatives who will go on to Yainax, where Tom will be buried in the Indian burying grounds.
