Thomas T. Foster Dec. 25, 1907; Oregonian, p 6 "Thomas T. Foster, Who Fought Indians in Early Days" Brownsville, Or., Dec. 24 The body of Thomas T. Foster, who died at the home of Joseph Dinwiddie, at Ontario, Or., Friday, was buried here yesterday. Deceased was a well known pioneer citizen. He came to Oregon in 1852, settling a few miles south of Brownsville, near Union Point. November 1, 1866, he married Miss Hattie Dinwiddie, a member of another pioneer family, who survives him, now residing at Ontario. Mr. Foster enlisted as a volunteer in 1863 and fought the Indians in Eastern Oregon and Washington. Soon after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Foster moved to Eastern Oregon, living there 22 years. They then moved to Ashland, where they lived eight years, returning then to Brownsville. His health failing the family went to California, returning last Fall and soon after going to Ontario. Mr. Foster was born in Indiana. He was 60 years of age. Besides a wife, five children survive him, as follows: Clair C. Foster, of Jordan Valley, Or.; Fred A. Foster, of Marysville, Cal.; Dela Foster, of Petaluma, Cal.; Sidney F. Foster, of Nyssa, Or., and Mrs. Mary Derrick, of Jordan Valley, Or.
