Nathaniel Cooper Long Dec. 17, 1920; Oregonian, p 11 Vale, Or., Dec. 16 Funeral services for N. C. Long, one of the earliest pioneers of this county, were held in Vale this afternoon. The Masonic lodge of this city, of which the deceased was a member for 50 years, conducted the services. Mr. Long settled near Vale in 1881. He was one of the original organizers of the McLaughlin irrigation district, the earliest irrigation scheme in this county. At time of death, which occurred in Ontario, Or., Tuesday night, Mr. Long was 82 years of age. He was a civil war veteran. He is survived by his widow, who lives in Ontario, and two sons, Critty Long of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Harvey Long of Ontario.
