Henry Padberg Oct. 29, 1911; Oregonian, p 8 (photo) "Morrow County Pioneer Goes to Rest After Life of 79 Years" Ione, Or., Oct. 28 A staunch pioneer of Morrow County, Henry Padberg, at the age of 79 years, passed away Monday. His remains were interred beside those of his wife in Lexington Cemetery Tuesday. Mr. Padberg came to this country from Germany when he was 18 years of age. He located first at Eugene, Or., then at Boise, Idaho, coming to this county in 1870. He was married in 1867 to Miss Martha Riggs, and to this union was born four sons, Lee, William, John and Lewis Padberg, and two daughters, Mrs. Mat Halvorsen and Mrs. Lydia Ray, all of Morrow County. His first wife died November 30, 1890. Mr. Padberg married Mrs. Sarah E. Jayne, June 2, 1895. Mrs. Padberg was drowned in the Heppner flood of 1903.
