Daniel Hammack May 5, 1908; Oregonian, p 6 "Daniel Hammack, of Lostine" Elgin, Or., May 4 Daniel Hammack, a Union County pioneer of the early '60's, died at Lostine, Or., at the age of 67 years. He was born in Knox County, Ky., in June 1841, and in the Spring of 1842 his parents moved to Missouri, where they lived three years, when they moved to Iowa, where they resided for 19 years, from which state they came to Oregon in 1865, settling in the Grand Ronde Valley. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Lee, of Summerville, Or., and Mrs. Amanda Grider, of La Grande, Or., and one brother, J. W. Hammack, of Lostine, besides a large number of nephews and nieces in Union and Wallowa Counties.
