Ida L. Pace Nov. 3, 1949; Oregonian, p 17 "Early Settler Passes at 84" Mrs. Samuel F. Pace, 84, who had lived in Wallowa county 60 years and for some time in Portland, died Tuesday in Enterprise after an illness of two years. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Christian church in Enterprise. Born in Danville, Ill., daughter of a Christian minister, Mrs. Pace grew up in Kentucky and Missouri, was married in 1889 to Mr. Pace, who survives. The couple came to Wallowa county following their wedding, settling first in Lostine. Their only departure from the county was for a few years in the 1920;s when Samuel Pace was deputy U.S. marshal in Portland. Besides the widower, Mrs. Pace leaves a daughter, Mrs. Lela V. Porth, 2382 N. w. Lovejoy street, and son, Arthur M. Pace of Enterprise.
