George Freeman Sharp June 29, 1921; Oregonian, p 6 Obituary --- George Freeman Sharp George Freeman Sharp of Wheeler county died June 17 of heart disease near Mitchell, Or. He was born on December 18, 1873, at Manhattan, Kan. When he was 11 months old his family came to Portland via San Francisco. They settled on a government claim near Damascus, Or., and lived there until George was 18. They then moved to Palouse county, Washington. In 1894 he went to Wheeler county, Oregon, in company with George McKay. With the exception of one year he had lived there ever since. In 1900 he married Grace Kemp at Santa Barbara, Cal. He is survived by his widow, eight children --- Bernice, Gladys, Beulah, Malcolm McDonald, Ethel, Vallie, Wade and Georgia; a brother, James C. Sharp of Heppner, and three sisters, Mrs. Louis Compton of Salem, Mrs. A. C. Keller of Ashland and Mrs. W. F. Withom of Everett, Wash.
