I’m researching my Parrish ancestor, David James Parrish b. 1831 Nicholas Co., KY; died Feb. 17, 1889 Grant County, OR (Grant Co became Wheeler Co.) I would like to find where he is buried. I found on line several Parrish’s in the Richmond Cemetery that could be relatives. There is a “unknown Parrish” on the list & wondering if it might possibly be my gt. grandfather.

In the Canyon City, OR courthouse I found the Petition for app’t of administrator filed Apr. 29, 1889 – Of the matter of the Estate of D. J. Parrish dec’d. His son, George was the administrator & his sister Sarah E. Lee is my gt. grandmother, so know this is the right family. George Wesley Parrish b. Nov. 23, 1861 resided near Shoo Fly, Grant County, OR when his father died. I believe he herded sheep for his mother in law, Mrs. Lewis Any info or connection to someone that might have info for me would be most appreciated. We’ll be traveling up thru OR the first part of July with pickup & 27 ft. travel trailer. Is the road drivable out to the Richmond Cemetery from #207 N. of Mitchell?

I was just wondering if anyone has a surname list or a burial listing of the cemeteries at Kinzua, Spray, and Winlock??  The reason I'm asking is that it seems that some of my families are buried there ( pre 1920 ). I walked in two of them 2 years ago never knowing that the names were of my family.

Ron Taylor Thu Feb 6 19:37:52 1997

Taylor, Hugh: In search of my Great Grandfather, Hugh Taylor. While in his early 50's he left Jersey, Ohio soon after the death of his wife in February, 1910. He worked on irrigation projects along the Columbia River. He may have been drawn to various members of the Condit family who moved to Oregon in the early 1900s from both New Jersey and Ohio. One or more of the Condits may have been preachers who established Presbyterian churches in the area during this period. Any suggestions or guidance will be greatly appreciated. Please E-Mail to: fatron@ix.netcom.com

GEORGE. Looking to make contact with the children and/or grandchildren of my great-uncle, Leopold (Slim) George; b:Jan 7/1876 in St. Paul, Kansas, d:June, 1951 in Oregon. 1914 Leopold George moved with his mother & adult siblings to Killam, Alberta Canada when the Canadian West was being settled. Circa, 1930's Leopold George & his wife, Theresa (Venneman) George, moved to, I believe, the Portland area, but due to a lack of info. within the family in Canada, could very well be anywhere in OR state. They had 5 children: Maxine, Mary, Kay, Edmond, and Nick. All the children would have been born between 1902 - 1920.

Don George Wed Feb 12 20:49:20 1997

WILSON. Looking to make contact with the children and/or grandchildren of Petronella "Nell" (George) Wilson & Raymond Wilson. Nell (George) Wilson was born Dec 2, 1883, died Sept. 1966 in Oregon. 1914 Petronella (George) Wilson moved with her mother & adult siblings to WA state temporarily. Most of the George family eventually moved on to settle in Killam, Alberta Canada. My guess is Nell met Ray Wilson in WA state, married, and settled in the Portland area, and never did move to Killam, Alberta Canada with the rest of the family. Due to a lack of info within the family in Canada, this family could very well have settled elsewhere in OR state, but probably the Portland area. They had 6 children: Jeanette, Bernadette married Carl Helgerson, Marie married Ben Johnson, Dan married Rose Petersen, Bill married Eva Hetzler, and Ted married Harriet Murphy.
